Sustaining the Excellence

Jeff ’68 and JJ Glidden

Jeff Glidden is a member of the Board of Trustees and Co-Chair, along with Andronica Wheelock P’18, of the Bicentennial Campaign Cabinet.

Jeff holds fond memories of his New Hampton School experience as a member of the Class of 1968. For Jeff and his classmates, it was a time when close, lasting friendships were formed along with an appreciation for the outstanding education they received. “The faculty and staff had a great impact on us,” says Jeff. “They encouraged us to become lifelong learners and helped us to succeed in our chosen paths.”

Jeff and his wife JJ were the first generation in their families to attend four-year colleges. They both subsequently went on to do graduate work at Harvard University. “New Hampton School provided me with the tools and the curiosity to look for challenges in my education, my career, and my life,” says Jeff. “It is our goal now to give others that same life-changing opportunity.”

Jeff understands that a key goal of the Bicentennial Campaign is to build New Hampton School’s endowment. This funding will help sustain the School for years to come and very importantly, for Jeff and JJ, provide additional funding for scholarships for students who need help in order to attend New Hampton School.

“With the help of the Bicentennial Campaign, New Hampton School will be able to inspire an increasingly diverse set of students to become lifelong learners,” says Jeff. “Like the Class of 1968, they too will benefit from all that New Hampton School has to offer, as they engage in their education, succeed in their careers, and give back to their communities.”

“The faculty and staff had a great impact on us. They encouraged us to become lifelong learners and helped us to succeed in our chosen paths.”
